Description:

  • This disease mainly develops under warm, wet conditions.

Damage Symptoms:

  • Water-soaked spots appear on leaves, which turn brown and necrotic.
  • Yellow halos can be observed around lesions.
  • Premature leaf drop reduces plant vigour.
  • Lesions may also appear on fruits, reducing market quality.

Preventive Measures:

  • Avoid overhead irrigation and use certified disease-free seeds.
  • Practice crop rotation to limit disease spread.

Control Measures:

  • Spray copper fungicide at 2 g/l.
  • Streptomycin at 0.5 g/l needs to be applied at the early signs of infection.
