Description
Warm weather and high soil moisture are favourable conditions for the occurrence of this disease, and it mostly occurs during the summer and early monsoon months.
Damage Symptoms
Yellowing and drooping of lower leaves, followed by similar symptoms in young leaves.
Infected tomato leaves wilt and fall off prematurely.
Dark brown discolouration of vascular tissues can be seen if the stems are cut open in infected tomato plants.
Eventually, plants wilt and die.
Preventive Measures
Follow deep summer ploughing.
Practice crop rotation.
Control Measures
Drench with Copper Oxychloride @ 2.5 g/l or Carbendazim @ 1 g/l.
