Description:

• Warm and humid conditions are favourable for the occurrence of this disease.

 Damage Symptoms:

• Water-soaked, greyish-tan elongated spots with dark borders appear on the leaves.
• Later, characteristic cigar-shaped lesions can be observed on the leaves.
• As lesions grow, leaves may dry out due to decreased photosynthetic ability.
• Heavy infections can cause premature leaf senescence.

Preventive Measures:

• Remove infected plants from the field.

Control Measures:

• Application of Mancozeb at 2 g/l.
