Description:

  • The virus is generally seed-borne and spreads easily by animals, implements, etc.

Damage Symptoms:

  •  The symptoms vary depending on the strain of the virus. Some strains cause yellowing or leaf mottling, which may also affect the fruit.
  •  Other strains result in longitudinal necrotic streaks on the stem or petioles.
  •  The plants are stunted.
  •  Necrotic sunken lesions also appear on fruits, and sometimes internal necrosis or browning of mature fruit occurs.

Preventive Measures:

  •  Remove and destroy diseased plants.
  •  Install sticky traps in the field.

Control Measures:

  •  Apply Imidacloprid.
