Description:

  • Dry, humid weather following rainfall are favourable conditions for the occurrence of this disease.

Damage Symptoms:

  • White, powdery growth appears on the lower surface of the leaves.
  • The corresponding areas on the upper surface show pale yellow discolouration.
  • In severe cases, the white growth is visible on the upper surface of the leaf as well.
  • Severe infection leads to premature shedding of leaves.

Preventive Measures:

  • Avoid late sowing of red gram.

Control Measures:

  • Spray Carbendazim at 500 g/ha or Wettable Sulphur at 1.5 kg/ha.
