It is commonly found in warm, wet soils and can attack plants at all stages of growth.
Damage Symptoms:
Yellowing of leaves starting from the lower part of the plant.
Initially, wilting of leaves during the day, with recovery at night.
Brown vascular discolouration inside the stems.
The disease may also result in the death of the plants if left unchecked.
Preventive Measures:
Crop rotation can be practiced.
Control Measures:
Drench with 1% Bordeaux mixture, Blue copper, or Fytolan 0.25%.
Mix 2 kg of Trichoderma viride formulation with 50 kg of FYM, sprinkle water, and cover with a thin polythene sheet. After 15 days, when mycelial growth is visible on the heap, apply the mixture in rows of chilli in an area of one acre.
