Description

• The virus is transmitted by whiteflies.

Damage Symptoms

• Typical downward curling, crinkling, and chlorosis of leaves.
• Infected plants are stunted with shortened internodes, giving them a bushy appearance.
• Small leaf-like growths called enations can be observed on the midrib.
• In severe cases, infected plants do not produce flowers or fruits.

Preventive Measures

• Remove and destroy infected plants.
• Install sticky traps in the field.

Control Measures

• Foliar spray with dimethoate or methyl demeton at 2 ml/litre.
