Description:

  • Cool and dry weather are favourable conditions for the occurrence of this disease.

Damage Symptoms:

  • Whitish or dirty grey powdery growth can be observed on leaves, stems, etc.
  • The superficial growth ultimately covers the entire leaf area.
  • The diseased areas turn brown and dry.
  • This leads to premature defoliation and plant death.
  • Fruits remain undeveloped and become deformed.

Preventive Measures:

  • Avoid overhead irrigation.

Control Measures:

  • Spray Calixin @ 0.1% or Karathane @ 0.2%.
