Description:

•  Whiteflies act as vectors for the Tobacco Leaf Curl Virus.

Damage Symptoms:

•  Initially, leaf curling occurs, followed by a reduction in size.
•  Affected leaves turn pale yellow in colour.
•  Older leaves become leathery and brittle.
•  The affected plants become stunted.
• In cases of severe infection, fruit formation may be distorted.

Preventive Measures:

•  Install sticky traps in the field.

Control Measures:

• Apply imidacloprid.
