Description:

• Leafhoppers cause significant damage to brinjal plants, especially during the vegetative stage.

Damage Symptoms:

• Both nymphs and adults feed by sucking sap from the underside of leaves, leading to the characteristic hopper burn symptom.
• Leaves curl downward and become crinkled.
• The plant's growth is stunted.

Preventive Measures:

• Remove and destroy affected plant parts.

Control Measures:

• Foliar spray with dimethoate at 2 ml/l, methyl demeton at 2 ml/l, or fipronil at 2 ml/l.
