Description:

•  The fly is pale yellowish and measures around 1.5 mm in length.

Damage Symptoms:

• The maggot feeds on chlorophyll by mining between the epidermal layers.
•  Leaves with serpentine mines can be observed.
•  In severe cases, leaves dry out and drop.

Preventive Measures:

•  Install pheromone traps in the field.

Control Measures:

•  Foliar spray with endosulfan at 2 ml/l or carbaryl at 3 g/l.
