Twig canker is a fungal disease affecting drumstick branches and stems, causing lesions and dieback. High soil moisture and temperature are favourable for the occurrence of the disease.
Damage Symptoms:
Brown, sunken lesions appear on twigs and branches.
Gum oozes from the affected areas.
Twigs can dry and die from the tips to the base.
In severe infection, plant branches dry, and yield is reduced.
Preventive Measures:
Cut off affected branches and dispose of them properly outside the field to prevent the fungus from spreading.
